Hi everyone! My name is Alyssa Reese and I am from Englewood, Florida. I am a freshman currently taking courses to become a teacher for young children with special needs - including physical and mental disabilities. I have always aspired to be a great leader and teacher, and by teaching kids with special needs I hope to encourage others to pursue their dreams as well as inspire my future students to never give up, because with determination and hardwork anything can be achieved.
Previously in primary school, I was surrounded by educational technologies, in and out of the classroom. My teachers would always ensure that students were engaged in their coursework by implementing technology into class assignments and study techniques. Often my classmates and I would participate in electronic quizzes and games which allowed us to compete against each other while learning and reviewing class material. I also used other educational technologies such as library rooms, where students were able to go during break periods or to study after school. These technologies allowed me to be successful throughout my primary school years.
In this class, I hope to learn more about educational technologies and how to implement them in a classroom setting. I also hope to gage an understanding on how to successfully teach y future students, as well as how to learn from them. During this course, I am excited to learn from my peers and discuss different opinions on educational technologies in the classroom.

ReplyDeleteNice to meet you Alyssa! We have an entire week dedicated for tech that deals with students with special needs. I am sure you can bring in a lot from you background to this class.
